At last Iona gains a measure of respect from her classmates with the aliens help. Further strange robberies of yet another of earth’s treasures are being reported world wide, but the extraterrestrial devices which detect outer space involvement have little fuel left.

The aliens themselves are suffering too. Without the assistance of their galactic friends, little could be done to prevent this wholesale theft. Nothing was available on earth to solve the supply of fuel. An urgent search of the universe is undertaken by Iona and Bren to locate both the energy source and mechanical service necessary to restore their allies’ capabilities to function.
