MARSHALL THE MERCENARY
In 1816 Marshall returns to the sea after a personal
tragedy. A clash with pirates in the Arabian Sea and a chance meeting
with an old acquaintance sets him on a mercenary’s life.
His skills at gunnery and navigation find him success at sea in support
of a rebellion in China to others in South America. There, an alliance
with Lord Thomas Cochrane finds him on the side of nations seeking independence
from his old foe, the Spanish.
Eventually sickened by continuous battle a change to
a peaceful merchantmen's profession is sought, but an old adversary seeks
revenge.
